I have a 650 sq. ft. Garage that has nothing done to the garage floor, its 6 months old. I think I may go with porcelain tile but have a few questions if anyone could help me out.

My local lowes has 10.5mm tiles on sale but only have 460 of them, can I out line the 10.5mm tiles with a different height tile like 5/16 in?

I have been going back and forth with tile, epoxy and vct tile. My garage will be use as a light duty family daily driver kids toys garage.

What do people use for a transistion strip at the entrance of the garage door from the cement to tile?

If you prep the floor properly to accommodate the different height tiles, you can do anything you like. I've done many jobs where different height tiles were used.

As for the transition strip, you can use the Schluter Reno-U edge protector. It's available in Aluminum or Stainless Steel. This is what I used, I just finish laying the tiles in my garage.

For transition you can also create a small ramp with cement just like the the picture of my installation. Cheap and hasn't chipped in months.

Different height tile could potentially cause water puddles. Go for a design that make water flow in correct direction if you still go for it. I recommend getting tile of same height and then create a pattern.

Garage floor was already 1.25" higher than the driveway and then tiles+thinset added another 0.75"
Now total 2" above driveway.
Concrete ramp is at about 45 degrees angle.

You can use different height tiles. Just set them higher, we aren't talking about inches of thinset, we are talking about millimeters.

I recommend edge guard also.
