Porcelain tile stained during install - clean up?

I installed some porcelain tile over the weekend and the tile adhesive stained the tile. I guess I should have been more careful or cleaned it up while wet.

What can I use to remove the stains???

Please tell me you did not use any of those adhesives on a garage floor.

No. This is for a bathtub wall.

Adhesive is the large tile 20x20 type.

How about posting a pic of the actual stain?

I called the adhesive mfg and they recommended mineral spirits.

If mineral spirits doesn't cut it, you can experiment a little, lacquer thinner, acetone, MEK. Gloves, ventilation, mask, safety specs. Acetone is probably the safest of the more aggressive solvents, we used to use MEK in squeeze bottles for cleaning but apparently that's not good for your liver....

I use a Q-Tip dipped in solvent and look to see if I'm getting any adhesive up on the end of the q-tip, kinda an experimental thing before soaking down the whole tile.

If the manufacturer recommended mineral spirits, I would go with that.

Sometimes you can get an oily residue from the reaction with the adhesive. If that happens a degreaser should clean that up, with a poultice in extreme cases.
