Porcelain Tile: What about lip?

Thanks to helpful suggestions from some forum members i just ordered porcelain tile for my garage. Now, i read some threads about lip solutions, but still not sure what the consensus is. Will just a bullnose tile work or i do need something like http://www.schluter.com/1_7_reno_v.aspx?

I would use the metal edge (schluter or the like). Might be cheaper than the bullnose too

Structurally bullnose will be more or less same as doing nothing and that is not a problem. Aesthetically it will look better. Bullnose tiles are usually way more expensive. You might be better off with edge or ramp.

Love the ramp. I have to try to do the same thing on mine to make it easier for the wife to pull in--although my problem is I don't have as much distance to my garage door so I either have to raise the door or make a steeper incline (making the value of the ramp more questionable). Why didn't you use tile for the ramp?

I have love for bullnose. In my home I have "finished" concrete floors but the bathroom has tile. At the transition I used the bullnose tiles and don't catch my bare feet on the edge. Looks way better even if it doesn't improve the ramp angle. Setting tile directly onto concrete with only thinset doesn't give you much of a lip anyway, pretty much the thickness of the tile.

Used one on top of wall tiles too.

Bullnose wasn't available for my tile and I didn;t even think of going that route.
Installer suggested inclined tile as a ramp but i thought that would have been a bad idea. He was jst going to put thinset under the inclined tile and thinset can't be 2" thick.

Yes- it's Schluter.
I was worried about the aluminum denting or distorting- not the case.
I've drove over it, I've pushed fully loaded tool boxes over it- pushed a motor on engine stand over it- Nothing.
Compared to a finished tile edge- it's alot cheaper & IMO- looks better in a garage.
When I was tile shopping- I was looking at tiles that had matching edge pieces or bullnose. When I found stuff on sale, they never had any matching tiles.
Mentioned it to my tile installer & he's the one who told me about the Schluter edge pieces. I bought it at a tile store- I found the pieces for wall at Lowes. They had the same floor pieces as well & at 1/2 the price. I think the 2- 10 ft pieces across the garage door opening were about 12 bucks each at the tile store. The wall pieces were 8 ft long & were about 8 bucks each.
