I currently have a 12x17 deck off my house that I want to put a roof over and screen in it. I want to get moving on the permits because I need to put a roof on the house anyway. I have 2 decking books where I got all my beam/load information from.
I've sketched up a top and side view on paper, but I think SketchUp would be the ticket since I have to had this in to apply for a permit.
I have graphic design experience, but I feel like I need a crash course in how this app works. I've seen some pretty sweet designs around here in SketchUp. How did you guys get your start with it?
