porta -hut zoning issues ?

i got a tubular structure w/a vinyl ? cover ,i use it as a car storage unit ,also for mowers and so forth .the new city nazis came up w/ a new ordinance that says i need a permit for mine ! first month fee is $25.00 ,second month is $50.00,third is $100.00 on a rising fee to keep these structures from staying for a long time ! i have had mine for about 8 yrs ,its not in a front or side yard ,it is beside a garage in way back yard ! anybody had any legal issues like this ?what may i do ?any ideas ?

Without knowing your city and how the ordinance is worded, call your city gov't rep and inquire as to the "grandfather" status of yours. Your structure predates the ordinance and usually it applies from the effective date on. Might help. Good luck.
