Portaband blade thickness/kerf

Hi all,

Bought a Bauer portaband from harbor freight. It says in the manual it uses .025 thickness blades.

However, most of the blades at the store are listed as 0.02 thickness. Only found a few .025 and they are the wrong tpi.

Does blade thickness matter on these portabands?

Checked DeWalt and Milwaukee, both list 0.02 thickness in the manual.

Thanks!

I have a Porter-Cable I bought from a friend awhile-ago, I found someplace online selling name-brand blades for $4 apiece, I don't use mine much, but at that price, I figured I could afford to stock-up. I did. It's probably a 'lifetime supply,' as-infrequently as I use mine. You might want to look on-here in 'search' for building a fixture to make it a chop saw.
