Portable AC unit - vent question

I have seen a few threads on here in regards to venting a portable AC unit.

Now I live down south where water heaters are in the garage - and mine has a vent stack that goes to the roof and vents to the outside. My water heater is a natural gas unit.

Would it be possible to tie into the vent stack for the water heater with a portable ac unit?

The stack for the water heater isnt in the best of shape and well - I did a brake upgrade in my garage this past weekend - and the heat/humidity was unbearable...

One concern is that the vent stack for the water heater might have some kind of gas emissions coming out of it since it is a gas unit - and somehow that might get sucked into the AC unit.

Thanks for the help,
Craig

No, you can not vent the air conditioner though the hot water tank vent pipe. Vent it out a window, the bottom of the garage door or pop a hole in the wall.
