yes there is. if the meter is a direct reading meter you will have to run the feeders thru the meter and then back to the sub. if it's an indirect read then you just need to put the CTs on the feed wire

What are CTs? Do these meters give kWh readings? Where are they available?

CT stands for current transformer. Emon Demon is probably the most popular brand. most supply houses should have availability. they read in Kwh.

What exactly are you trying to do? A meter can & a used KWH meter would work for "Submetering".

In some states "sub metering" isn't allowed something about the Public Service commission. They consider you a "utility". Laws might of changed tho.

Agreed, but if the OP is just trying to measure the use of an area & not collect revenue, there is not likely to be a issue. I put a couple of submeters on my shop, 1 for the well & the other for everything else, never read them though so they are a bit of a waste
