I'm interested in what guys are using in the garage to stay warm, all i'm looking for is a decent little heater i can put by me to keep me comfortable and has to be electric due to to cut down on fire risks. I'd like one that can warm a decent area around me, not worried about the whole garage, ones i'f looked at online they look kinda flimsy and cheap, i did find one stanley that looks decent.

A $12.00 TSC portable space heater will do the same thing and has all the safety features mentioned in the HD video. Plus how does "Pivot Power" work w/o defeating the tip over switch function?

My dad had some small square box type heaters when i was a kid and they did pretty good and were durable. I don't plan on any real projects in the garage i just want if i'm working on something it will be tolerable and be able to melt off stuff if needed.

I picked up 2 and while the price tag on the box says $19.99 the sign said $12.00 and that was what they rang up as.

The heaters work as they should, i.e. put out rated btu's @ 1500 watts. If you aim the little heater at you close up, you will be toasted move it further away and you may question if it is on. The starting temp of the room, drafts, how big the room is and if there is an insulated barrier between you and world all matter. For 20 bucks maybe it's worth a try.

Long ago (like 50 years ago) I used 2 1500 watt heaters to heat a 13 X 25 garage but it was well insulated, atleast from the floor upward. They would take the chill off. Confort level changes as we get older and what is comfortable for me may not be acceptable to you.

I've got a 24x24 garage and have no illusions of actually heating it or being able to work in a t-shirt, i'd just like to be able to warm up around me to able to not freeze my fingers off. I had a couple times last winter i needed to work on stuf and used my halogen light for warmth and yes that works but not something i liked doing. I'm 31 and will whole heartedly agree that yeah i used to take the cold no problem now its like screw that turn it up.:lol_hitti
