So I am going to frame up the upstairs of my garage as soon as it cools off a little. I also on occasion run across a job that requires a little bit of framing before a garage door can be installed. With that said does anyone make a framing type nailer that is either electric or C02 charged maybe? I know they make air type that run from a compressor which would be fine at home but on the job just not practical for the amount of time I'd use it. Any reccomendations anyone can give? Thanks,

Jimmy

Paslode makes a nice one that uses CO2. I think PC has one also.

I think PC discontinued theirs. Too bad. From everything I've heard, that thing (The Bammer) was worthless.

Paslode has one that seems to get good reviews all the time. Hitachi also entered this segment either late last year or early this year. It sounds like this is also a pretty good tool too.

I knew a builder a few years ago that loved the Pasload. I was surprized at how many shots he got out of a cartrige. One thing he said was they needed a lot of maintanence, but like I said he as a builder and ran 'em constantly.

I have a both air driven and cordless Paslodes. The cordless are not CO2 they are driven off butane with a solid state battery driven ingition. If you werent going to use it alot I would opt for the air driven, less maintence no batteries or fuel cylinders to maintain.

My only problem with getting an air nailer would be the inconvenience of having a compressor with me. Most times my installer doesn't know when he will need to use it until he is already on the job. Thanks,

Then the Paslode Cordless would probably be the best choice. If you do much floor framing they make a corded Positive Placement nailer. I have never seen them locally. I purchased mine through Nailzone.com afterwards I found Speedynails.com which is local. They shoot hardened tip nails into any type of metal framing bracket or joist hanger. Talk about really speeding up framing!
