Old thread but I'm going to add to it since I had read this before and a few other things...may be helpful for someone in the future.

Myself I ended up with the bosch 4100 a year or so ago. But now i have a dw744xrs in my garage as well i couldn't help from picking up off craigslist. Haven't got to use the dewalt yet but here's a few things i notice off the bat.

foot print is the same, folded height difference the dewalt is more compact about 1.5 feet or so (as the handle slickly slides in). Depth folded is the same. The dewalt does fold down to a nice boxy shape...I'm considering building a cabinet in my limited space to roll it into and the dewalt seems more manageable, it's lighter too.

Dewalt stand, i'm not sure how the 4 legs will do on uneven ground (or even the bosch..i've never really noticed anything with the bosch). But the stand is slick, and the saw detaches with just two lever pushes. I like the stand so much i'm going to have to pickup a couple of other work stands or the mini miter one.

Setup in the garage on the flat concrete the dewalt is very wobble free, it doesn't really wiggle pushing around on it. The bosch does have noticeable wiggle with it (from the stand). Not really a huge deal..the bosch only wiggled when i cut larger sheet stuff (that should have been cut with a circular first anyways).

Bosch larger table, most noticeable is about 2 more inches of space before the blade on the front (but side and back is more room too) Standing in front of the two the 2" bosch extra really feels noticeably more roomy in front of the blade.

Bosch sits a few inches higher (table surface).

Setup time , the bosch wins out slightly as you don't have to unfold the legs, but the dewalt is very quick to setup, pop the top legs, step around lift and pop the lower legs..minor additional setup with the dewalt. I wouldn't base a decision on that...though without a doubt if you need to move it into a pickup the dewalt would win, 2 clips to undo from the stand and put the two pieces in.

No fence storage on the dewalt.

I gotta say just from playing around with it i like the dewalt rack and pinion fence even if the fence itself doesn't seem as meaty as the bosch, turning a knob to adjust it is effortless and it's very quick to check if true enough for my purposes. I had played with the fence in the stores but you get a better idea when it's in your garage on your time.

If you don't have the bosch you may not think about this but to use the measurement the full 25, you lock the fence at the very right, and extend the table, you then adjust by moving the table extension (if you initially want to go by the measurement markings on the tape)...that part doesn't move smooth unless you regularly clean it and lube it. I didn't even notice this until today i always used my measuring tape and kept telling myself one day I'll read the instructions on the measurement bar. I had just figured you moved the fence, but the measurements never matched up, but I see now you actually move the extension in and out to go by the onboard tape (dumb i know and the instructions are right there on the tape). Much better but too bad it's a bit picky on actually moving smooth, bump tap, bump tap, bump tap for mini adjustments.

I fired up the dewalt just to hear it and seemed the same noise wise as the bosch.

Not sure which I'll keep, i'm leaning towards the dewalt due to the rack and pinion fence, it's just smooth and minor adjustments seem quick, and that 1.5 feet vertical height less , nice boxy shape when broken down, it would roll right into a cabinet I'm planning.

Though...if i used it more, I do like the height and table size of the bosch and it is a bit easier to setup and would choose that for sure. But if mobile or infrequent use and space challenged as I've found myself doing, i'd consider the dewalt.

Think the bosch is swiss made, the dewalt is chinese. I would email bosch the model number and they can give you the coo.

I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to confirm this for future vistors. I looked at these saws in the store about a month ago. The Bosch is made in Taiwan, and the Dewalt is made in Mexico. Amazon also lists the country of origin for both saws. Bosch hasn't been swiss made in years.
