Has anyone purchased a portable tool cart? The kind I am looking for is similar to airline carry on luggage with a telescopeing handle and wheels. Most seem quite expensive and large and are probably designed for the technician who travels with a lot with tools. I don't need anything that is airline baggage proof. Just a small box (20" wide 12" deep 12" high or similar) that would make it easier to move tools around a couple times a month that will hold up. Sears has a Craftsman #59627 but it doesn't have very good reviews. Any ideas? Thanks

Before i had a proper toolbox, my kart was my toolbox. It worked really well as it happens, being able to take everything i commonly used (and had) right up to the job at hand. It's nothing expensive, but it does the job just fine, rolled fine across the ship despite weighing maybe 165lb. I now have a proper box, but still use the kart at work because it's so handy to have it there with the tools i'm using during the job.

My dad has one and it still seems to be fine except the latches broke and the handles break. His has over 1 million miles and 12+ years of use on it though.

I would say if you don't have to have a hard case get either a tool bucket or tool bag.

your description of 'move aroud' could be shop to house or NY to CA.

For home use I have a bucket boss that I keep stocked with all standard stuff... it can be emptied and reloaded quickly for plumbing vrs electrical... if the daughter needs work at her house... grab the bucket and hit thetrail... the only problem is that it can get heavy on you when you load it down with 'stuff' cordless drill, saw, couple hammers.... plus the regular stuff on it...

cheap and easy... and they even make a cover for it if you need one

When I worked as a Audio Engineer we all used Platt cases to get our tools safely across town or across the country. They have some pretty expensive stuff and also some more affordable. This sounds like what your are talking about. Chicago Cases is a cheaper version of similar products.

Telescoping Handle, wheels etc. I would fly with something similar to this. They also have Plastic injection molded versions which are cheaper and damn near un-breakable in normal use.
