Portable Toolbox contents?

I carry a 12" canvas tool bag. It holds SAE and metric wrenches and sockets, 1/4 to 7/8 and metric equivalents. Various pliers, knife, zip ties, screwdrivers, torx drivers, allen wrenches, wire brush, two disposable flashlights, battery terminal puller, bettery terminal brush/reamer, hose clamps, 6" and 10" ratchet extensions, tire pressure gauge, 12 ounce ball pein hammer, 3/8 breaker bar. Possibly a few other things I can't remember.

ve used the battery brush several times on people's cars that wouldn't start. Cleaned the posts and reamed the cable connection and they started right up. Helped several people replace alternators(actually I did it and they watched) while traveling together to gym meets. Did a brake job on one of my cars during a gym meet in Charlotte. A pad broke off the backing plate and I had two more days before the meet was over so towing it home wasn't a good option.

I also carry a spare serpentine belt, radiator hoses, length of heater hose in the trunk. Plus brake fluid, oil, etc.

This is pretty much exactly what I carry in my truck and my wife's car. Although I do not have the wire brush in there... that would be a great addition.

I always keep a 12 inch adjustable with me for trailer hitch balls, I have used it tones.

A few months ago, I bought all the coaches that work at our gym 4" adjustable wrenches. Most don't carry any tools, but a 4" adjustable will open to 5/8 inch and can be tossed in the glove box.

I also keep a few tools in my desk in my classroom. 6 in 1 screwdriver, needle nose and tongue and groove pliers, tape measure, 6" adjustable wrench and a ball pein hammer.

Have to resurrect this... Today, while cursing up a storm out at my Dad's place I came up with a few extras to add to the portable tool box. How about one of those magnetic chrome dish's from Harbor Freight. That way when you remove a few bolts or cotter pins out in the field you'll have somplace to put them where they won't freakin spill onto the ground and get lost so you have to hunt around on your hands and knees for half an hour. Oh, and the magnetic base could've been used for passing over the ground to attract any dropped nuts or washers. While I'm at it I"m going to add a few nuts and bolts with washers in various sizes so when you break one you won't have search around to canabalize something to replace it. Rant over, I feel better now....

I love those magnetic dishes too. I have been thinking about getting a bunch of those dishes and just leaving one some place under the hood of all of our cars. An old speaker magnet works too for those that don't care about appearance.
