My experience - Open it up and you will find little pieces of broken up plastic in the cylinder...like coarse crumbs... theres a part(s) in there that degrade and fall apart if non safe oil is used for lube.

Just dig into to it w a parts diagram and you will see.

My experience, the o-ring seal. After the factory o-ring went bad a second time, w/very-little use after replacing it, I went to my friendly Harbor Freight for a replacement, and that's still goin' strong. I don't think it cost $20.

I took it all apart and don’t see any broken parts or bad o-rings. Should I just replace every o-ring? Thanks again

If it's already apart, the price of o-rings is pretty negligable at that point.

I am picking my dead one up from a friend this week, expecting bad seals as well

A neighbor had his break the ?anvil? connects the piston to the driver, stupid expensive to replace that part, he got a new one

I have a Porter Cable stapler that was acting up. The 'striker' wasn't retracting properly so it wouldn't fire after the next shot

lookup your model # on https://www.ereplacementparts.com/. I bought the piston ring and two o-rings
