Porter Cable Impact sockets

Anyone have any experience with these? Didn't know Porter Cable made sockets.

my guess is they don't. they look like relabled imports.

i am sure they don't. most likely a generic socket in porter cable packaging. they are probably ok as i have never had any huge problems with impact sockets of any kind. i would either spend more for better or go cheap hf and see what happpens. good luck

I think the Porter Cable impact sockets may be made by Stanley. The sets look pretty similar.

not to me........i'd spend a little more and get craftsmans. they will be us made and you will be able to get them warranteed after porter cable decides to stop selling them.

like i said earlier they would probably be ok. we don't know your needs. rotate tires on the family truckster on occasion good. working on rusty equipment with tough conditions every day no. i would say that should be the least you should buy. i think you could get into some ingersol rand for not much more money that would be better. you more than likely don't need to go overboard though.

It looks exactly like the HF 13pc set. The PC set starts at 3/8" while the HF starts at 7/16" -- HF includes a 1-1/4"

The style is the same -- the HF sockets are an exact duplicate of my Sunnex (Taiwan) sockets, so I'll assume the PC sockets are from the same source.

BTW -- those Sunnex sockets are awesome -- should have bought those years ago.

I was not aware that Porter Cable made automotive type impact sockets. I know that DeWalt has impact sockets for things like lag bolts. They are meant to be used with battery powered impact driver screwguns. I have a set that I use with my 14V Dewalt drill. I would expect that Porter cable would introduce a similar type impact socket.

i got a set from the air compressor class action settlement a few years back. 3/8" drive. they're ok but nothing special....

Those Stanley impact sockets were on clearance at Wal-Mart a week or so ago for $15.00 per set. It looked like they were replacing them with some garbage CH impact sockets that they could charge more for.

Don't waste your money, as was said, Stanley Impacts can be had at walmart for cheap. Also, HD sells them as Husky but they are more $$$.

Honestly, you can get craftsman Impact sockets for like $45 on sale and the metric set covers all the most common sizes. They are one hell of a deal and having seen how well these hold up to the end of an ir 2135TI for several years at the hand of a not so gentle mechanic, If I had to do it again, I would go with craftsman.

I'm going to stay away from them because I was looking in the tool section of Auto Zone and they have the exact same set just with a Great Neck sticker on them. I may just slide into Sears and get the C-man sets. Thanks for all the input.

I have some CMan impact sockets, and they are surprisingly good.
