Porter Cable Li-Ion powe tools?

Looking at that kit, as I don't have a good power drill at the house anymore.

How is PC? Or should I just go with Dewalt/Makita/Milwaukee?

PC + Li power should be fine as a diy drill. Competitive products are the Ryobi, Craftsman and for even better performance / tool warranty consider the Ridgid. IMO base your decision on what other power tools you might be consider adding.
Mid to upper end Dewalt-Milwaukee-Makita are much better than the typical diy power tool lineup and preferred by the pros along with increased expense

I have been using the set with the red / black "max" batteries (longer run time, I guess) for a long time and have the older NICAD set, as well. I stumbled across one of the $99 kit deals a few years back and have been using PC stuff ever since. I have built lots of stuff at home (bought their whole range of battery tools for home) and use the drill / impact kit at work almost every day. Not working them super hard like, but drill a few holes (allways in steel at work), run a couple dozen 3/8" or smaller bolts out / back in......no complaints here, infact I highly recommend them for the cost.

If their new ones are anything like the NiCad from the early 2000's I would say go for it.

That was my goto brand for work, took one hell of a beating in the field everyday and kept coming back for more.

I have that, set but with the red and black Max batteries, same as Heavy Metal Doctor. I use the HELL out of them. I paid more than $99. I say go for it. I like them much better than my 18v Makita impact driver.

I have a similar set, only used for diy but was very impressed with the overall value. I would buy them again and have recommended them to others.

The 20V max lineup is very similar to the DeWalt 20V brushed tools (same size, weight, a few parts are interchangeable). Motors are different however (less powerful in the Porter Cable).

They're well built though, especially for the price.
