porter cable model 314 armature removal

I've got a porter cable 314 trim saw and managed to burn a spot on the commutator and have been trying to remove the armature so I can fix it. I've taken the blade guard off, brushes out, removed the 4 screws that holds the armature case to the worm section, and taken the handle loose from the saw body. Problem is, I can't pull the two sections apart. Anybody know what I need to do to remove the armature. Thanks for any help
