Hello everyone ,HD has the pc pancake compressor for 99 bucks, bought one for a framing nailer worked great, good price, 6 gallon. I actually bought it at lowes they price matched it that was cool! press on.
I have purchase three of them over the years and the last one seemed to be of lesser quality. IN the end, it developed a leak on one of the integrated rubber hoses and I had to just replace it. The challenge was that I had to pretty much disassemble the entire thing to do it. In the end, for $99, they work great for low volume stuff.
my neighbour has one of the 135 PSI ones that builds to 40 PSI and stops. I've only messed with it for a few minutes but whatever went wrong with his is not an obvious fix.
My 6 gal Bostitch 150 PSI is much much better quality. The newer Bostitch ones are even assembled in USA. I don't think mine is. Being they are both Stanleys, I'd recommend spend a little more and get the Bostitch.
I picked up the Dewalt version of that compressor when my little 3 gal Husky died. Says on the box that it's "built in the USA". With global components I'd imagine. Damn nice pancake compressor for the money though.
I bought this little Senco a couple of years ago. It's light, very quiet, and puts out plenty of air for my nailers. Wouldn't want it as my only compressor, but it's hard to beat for portability.
I got the same Porter Cable compressor a couple Christmases ago when it was on sale for $99. Been fine for me airing up tires and running my HF 1/2" Earthquake impact wrench doing passenger vehicle lug nuts. I do drain the water out of the tank after each use and leave it open to dry out / breathe.
They put an expiration date on the tank because it is steel and will eventually rust out. I don't pay attention to that since I make sure to always let her dry out. They just don't want to be held liable when a rusty tank ruptures and injures the poor sap nearby.
