Porter Ferguson Hydro-Midget

I found this little gem on a neighboring CL, My brother was closer so I gave him the gentleman’s phone number and had him make arrangements to pick it up. It’s a vintage 4 ton unit with its own carrying case, it’s missing a couple pieces that I will try to secure and obviously rebuild the hydraulic pump/Ram. It’s not everyday that you run across pieces like this, so I didn’t hesitate to ****** it up.

Looks to me like one of those things similar to a porto matic or hydraulic pry tool.

It’s a 4 ton auto body porta power, the Midget name was designation for the smaller 4 ton, they also sold and still sell the 10 ton model.

I never even checked the operation of the Pump or the Ram, I did check the rod finish on the pump. I will definitely rebuild the hand pump and Ram, along with replace the hose. I probably won’t worry about Paint etc, I’ll keep the patina as is and focus on functionality.

Yours looks to be in pretty good shape considering the age of these things. I contacted Porter-Ferguson and I believe they sent me an old catalog scan indicating the original parts list. I will check when I get home.

That would be awesome, I believe I’m just missing BU60 and a couple of the securement tabs are broken.
