Picked up a 2 burner cooktop for the RV that will be mounted in a countertop. The cooktop has a male fitting pointing down and the manual shows the regulator (secondary, not the main regulator from the tank) connected directly on it so it is vertical. I would like to put a 90 on the cooktop and mount the regulator horizontally. Due to limited clearance the vent would be pointed down. I looked up the maker and it's from China with no info on their site other than a picture. I did some searches but no clear answer. I saw a few answers that the vent should go down to prevent junk and water condensation from plugging it. It's covered so crud getting in especially under a counter is unlikely. If it really should go vertical I could put another 90 near the back of the cabinet but that's just extra fittings. Picture shows how manual says to mount. Black dot at top is vent. Outlet is at top.
