I broke a 1/4" Maximum socket a week ago at work and I brought it back to Canadian Tire. This socket was part of a much larger set.

No questions asked, they just gave me a slip at the counter and I went down and got a new one.

:thumbup:I broke a 1/4 - 20 tap from one of their tap and die sets, took the tap into my local store and the parts manager said that they didnt have any taps available separately, but if i brought in the set, he would replace it entirely.

I bought 2 25' x 1" tape measures there back in the early 80's. I have had them replaced many times over the years. Just last week I took 1 in because the tape had a crack in it, came home with another new one! I have to say, I do love there lifetime warranty! And it's as simple as walking into the store, showing them the broken unit & then going to get a new one, No/Charge!

YUp I never had a problem warrantying a broken tool.

I friend recently returned a jammed torque wrench. The counter kid took it and proceeded to wak it on the ground thinking no one could see him:headscrat. My friend was pissed. Went and asked for a manager right away.

He definitely walked out with a new one after that

And here's what it looks like for those who haven't seen it. It's changed over the years but it's been around for a LONG time!

Most pathetic craigslist ad I've ever seen was a guy here auctioning off Canadian Tire $1 bills one at a time to the highest bidder.
