I broke a 22m RP wrench today at work (don't ask :eyecrazy:), anyway this evening I went to Sears. Since I had to warranty the wrench I thought I may as well take two ratchets in, a 1/4 and a 3/8 to warranty at the same time. Anyway, to make a long story short, the wrench replacement was Made in USA and the ratchets were Made in the USA also. Although the ratchets were refurbished, I had much rather trade for them than Chinese junk. :rocker:

Congrats on your replacements but in my opinion a positive experience is when a company or person goes above and beyond expectations not when service provided meets industry standards.

Glad to read this. I thought I was the only one who visits this site that can exchange things at sears without the spew of drama(real and imagined) posted here.

I sometimes wonder if this forum exists primarily for sears bashing

For me it was positive because the last time I warrantied a ratchet all they had were Chinese or Taiwanese, this time I had a Made in the USA option. So for me it was a good experience and maybe an indicator that they are listening to their customers. I also bought several sockets and screw drivers and they were all USA made too.

LOL cj.

Pic below of a true disgruntled Ford owner. Real pic.

As for Sears, hit and miss. It's like Taco Bell. You get/order what to you is a known quantity. Dabble in the fringe or "new" deals and expect failure or at least heartburn. Duh.
LOLOLOLOL.
Old skool is the best skool.

Sears does have positive service like other stores. There are the occasional bad apple. But overall it have always had good service. When sears had the deal of flex socket this weekend. Mi was able to build my metric set from 8-19mm with the help of the sears employee. They call differnent store to put aside the 2 sizes they did not have at the their store. So when I drove to the other stores, they were waiting for me, not sold out.

I think most have positive cs from sears, but on occasion you have a bad one. But that is with all stores.

I love sears and have no problem with local sears locations around me. Case in point. I returned a 19/21 mm RP flare nut wrench last week because of a chrome issue. It was old as dirt and I doubted that they made that size any longer. Sears guy said no problem let me call craftsmans number, if they still make it and have it sent out to you. Comes back to me, tells me they no longer make that size and i can choose another flare wrench or get $16 credit. Ok fair enough. Didnt see any flare nut wrench i wanted so i grab a $16, 1" size 6 point RP wrench. Sears guy says ok then looks at the wrench i am returning and says, since this wrench has two different sizes you can get another wrench too. So i grab the 15/16 size 6point. I got $30 worth if wrenches for a flare nut wrench i returned. Sears guy was a pleasure to deal with and took about 5min without any problem.

Plenty of those around too. I usually skip those for the jeep bashing threads though and read the how many times has jeep gone bankrupt versions.

Ok here is how I broke the wrench. I was setting the toe on the rear of a Lexus ES330. I was trying to loosen a nut which was really stuck (I had already PB Blasted it) and it wouldn't budge. So I made one more attempt and the wrench broke at the jaw. The wrench was an older RP, I think marked VV, and there were no previous cracks or damage to the wrench that was noticeable. At least it was better than last week when I was loosening a nut on the front of a car and the wrench came off and hit me in the forehead.
