I hope this works out for you. I don't want to ruffle feathers, but I don't understand the attitude of some here. On the one hand the reason given for buying S-O is the quality of the tools, and service of the company, handled through route drivers. The OP did everything "right"--paid S-O price, bought it through a truck, and received neither high quality nor good service. Then he's berated for expecting better.
Is the ratchet functional? Of course. But then, that's not the point.
