I'm contemplating buying a 72" hf box and adding a side locker to it, but I really want a hutch to be able to lock up bigger things, any ideas how to make one?

Just see if you can find a used older Snap on. I love the hutch on my box as a lockable work area. but since I've taken it home I don't really shut it.

Mine would be for work, and there's a few people who feel getting in someone else's box isn't a problem, and if be losing a big storage area for some of my welding equipment and papers, so I figured a 1/8 plate riveted or bolted to the cabinet would suffice and make a piano hing for the door

That's much nicer than I can do with my skills, also much fancier than I need, I do want the back to be able to have peg board for odd and end stuff, those shelves are nice, did you build the drawers in the locker And if not what brand are they?

i stole the drawers out of a damaged bottom box i found in scrapyard, looked brand new but the cabniet was beat to hell on outside, drawers still had new liners in them, i kinda think it was a hf box, i used the drawers and the slides, they arnt the same quality as the mac box but the stuff in them doesnt get used on a daily basis so they work ok. plus i only paid 10$ for the whole box for all yhe drawers.

That's bad *** either way [emoji106]
Much more in depth than I'll go
I was just gonna use the hf locker and bolt the back panel to that, then the roof as well and only need one side to fabricate
The door doesn't need to be anything special either, it will all be painted anyway
I just would rather use something I've built than something I've paid 8k for

Bumping this to see if anyone has painted their hf boxes and how long they lasted? Looking at getting the 72" but I need a different color, I will probably use automotive paint I'm just curious if anyone has a custom painted box
