Hood grief. They should have called a lock smith.

It is possible to break into any box. Question is how much damage. If it was just lost key that can be done by a locksmith, or even yourself if you know how, but this specifies "Damaged" so I suspect an attempted and botched break in attempt. I would still chance it at that price. Are there any tools in it?

Almost looks like a new top drawer would get it back in fairly good shape. Fill the lock holes with some sort of filler if you're not the type who locks up. At $200 I'd at least go check it out if I was local.

That looks like a KRL 761. For 200 I'd buy the box, finish ruining the top drawer to get into it. Buy a new drawer from Snap On and new locks. You'd have yourself a $1,500 dollar box at least with maybe 500 invested.

Is it possible, O yes. You just have to be intelligent about it.

For my design project in college we had to take our tools to the race (FSAE). Upon unloading the trailer we discovered the keys to our large, somewhat new, SO box were no where to be found. Using a dremel we cut out a very small patch on the top, right above the lock. No damage to the drawers and minimal damage to the box that was late fixed with a welder.

I am presenting this info for legal activities only. The way the seller did it, was not the intelligent way. Time was not on our side so we had to act quick. Since the seller owns the box at home they probably could have just bought a key for it.

I have a feeling there is a fishy story behind it. Stolen? :dunno: But why would they do that much damage to it if they just could have ordered a key. Also if it was they box, they would know exactly what tools are in there and the value of them probably well exceeds $200, unless it is empty or full of HF tools. Proceed with caution.

FWIW, they're all just tin and can be bent. For $75 I bought a near-new Snap-on roller cab with the same or less damage than the one in the photo. The owner's crackhead brother had broken into it to steal his tools for a toot. The top two drawers were bent. An hour's work with a hammer and dolly and most people don't even notice the remaining waves. No paint necessary, either.
