Possible to swap anvil on impact gun?

I've got an Ingersoll Rand 2135Ti that has the longer 3/8 anvil. I can't remember why I purchased the long nose instead of the standard short version. Is it possible to swap the long for the short, or would I be asking for trouble with the disassembly?

It's very easy to do. Takes a minute to tear the gun apart. The anvil assembly consist of six parts, I think all you need is an anvil kit.

simple swap. take the anvil cover off (4 screws) and swap the anvil.
