I chose to honor the control joints (caulk them after the epoxy) and to prevent the epoxy from filling the joint, I pushed in some backer rod at the surface, where the epoxy just barely covered it. I didn't clean the joints out between the different epoxy layers (primer, base/chips, clear epoxy and UV coats), and now I'm trying to cut open and clean the joints. I thought this would be easy, but it's not. The topcoat was installed less than 24 hours ago, and cutting with a razor blade isn't working. I've tried the Dremel tool, but it's slow going. What's the best way to clean these joints?
