I've seen people post about how they like wright tools and how they are 100% USA. But i've never seen any, so if you've got them, post them up!

I carry the majority of my wright tools at the shop, Here is what is at the house currently. There is alot of singles and holes in these pics as having it here at the house allows me to keep a good inventory of what i need to fill them. Im not gonna lie, Most of the older ratchets you see in the pics probably wont see much use. I have no problem using the newer stuff along with the sockets etc but im safeguarding anything from <1965.

Just about everything is Wright except a few ratchets.

The only Wright tool I have (for now) sitting next to the wrench it is replacing. Both have 10mm 3/8 deep sockets on them. See ant difference? The SO can take more torque but who cares with a ratchet that short.

Edit: And the Wright says USA on it:thumbup:

the only wright tool that does anything for me is that 3/8 drive 1/4 body. The concept of them being 100 percent american is awesome. But most of their ratchets look like childs toys.

My vintage 1/2" Wright ratchet...Hiball, would you be able to verify if my ratchet shown is from '57 or am I mistaken on the date code?

I only have a few pieces of Wright so far, but the little contoured 1/4" ratchet is like a gem, I enjoy just holding it. That's a Nickel for scale in the photos.

Hate to disappoint but I doubt I'll ever get rid of it...it's one of my faves.

Nice collection you have there...I'm really diggin' Wright more and more every time people show off pics of their Wright tools.

An alternate reality in a parallel universe.
Man the more I see of Wright the more I am going to go nuts when I get that catalog ordering!

My two favorite ratchets are my early 1980's Matco ratchets I bought in 82'. I didn't know they were actually Wrights. Once I cleaned them up and threw some RLL into them they are far and away my go to ratchets, which is saying something since I have over 20 ratchets in each 3/8" and 1/2" drive sizes.

Just by chance, I went to a new farm supply store tonight. Checked out there tools and they had a TON of Wright stuff. There stuff looks good, there wrenchs have super thick beams, thicker than CMan raised panels. I bet those could take a beating. My Dad has a set of Wright 1/2" Impact sockets.

I cant hang with Hiball, but here is what my lovely wife bought me for my birthday. I haven't even got a chance to get them greasy yet! As far as the child's toys comment, that doesn't fly. These tools rival or exceed the truck tool brands or any other brand out there.

Yet another well-thought-out, insightful analysis.

And exactly how many Wright ratchets have you owned or used to arrive at this conclusion?

I have to agree. They look a lot like the old Chinese ratchets from the 80's you buy in the dollar store. Same selector and knurling. They even sound the same.

I own four and they're my main ratchets. The contour handled ones are nice for blind areas, they don't spin in your hand like round handles do. Absolutely no problems with quality or performance. I just wish their looks matched their performance.

Being that Wright has been using the current round head/Paw design since the 60's i would venture to say that the Chinese ratchets from the 80's are the true copy cats here.

Here's my Wright 9414 adjustable spud....not nearly as pretty as all the previous pics, but it works for me. Does anyone know what the other letter/number combo is? Thanks.

is the wright catalog that's available online complete? there seems to be a lot of missing tools when compared to craftsman/sk/proto/snap-on.

Im curious to that set, Its part number actually is the cougar line but ive seen numerous sets similar to that on ebay and its ratchet looks nothing like the Cougar ratchets. I wonder if it was a earlier cougar model? I just seen one of those on ebay end the other day and it had no bids at $19, I was 2 seconds away from bidding but decided against it.

I think it probably is a Cougar set because they have no stampings on anything except the socket and they are just stamped USA, the box says "case made in Taiwan. I just brought them home because I'm going to sort out all of my 1/4" stuff, these will be going.
