Is that even how you spell lean-to? oh well, you know what I mean.

Anyways, I'm in thinking mode and would love to see some of your pictures.

I decided my garage bay is going to be more woodworking space, so I will be building a freestanding carport to protect 3 parking spots instead. Therefore, I want to see various carport designs you may have.

And, since carports probably isn't meaty enough for a stand alone topic... I also plan to build several sheds off the side of the barn. Lean-to style. I've seen some nice ones on here, let's collect some pics of them here. Anything goes from housing for a garbage can, to tractor parking.

Thanks!!

I'll try and post some pics of my carport/barn tomarrow. I think it started off as a small "lean to", then somebody made it a bigger carport, and then somebody enclosed half of it to make a barn. Very cheap hillbilly style construction.:D

I wanted to build a free standing 3 parking area car port as well but the town will not let me put it where i want it, which is 15 ft from my property line, has to be 25 and that wont work.

Here are my carports. Makes me appreciate when I had a garage to do work in. At least the carports are dry, albeit cold these days.

3 spaces, all of which are now all being used for parking the cars.

I would like to play but I have long since enclosed my double carport into a garage. But there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with a good carport. In nice weather they are the kitten's britches to work in. Mine had a 20X20 front and a 10X20 shop on the back. So, I made what is now a 20X30 garage, retaining the back part seperate. I for one am very excited to have a carport thread going here. If you have a carport, and locking cabinets/rooms/or such, your in good shape unless you live where it is -0 deg F. I even like working in them when it is raining.
Clean up is as near and easy as a water hose.
