Post Your Ebay Search Strings.

Hi all, I thought this might be an interesting subject. I'm constantly annoyed at searching Ebay for 'Snap On Tools' and coming up with a bunch of **** I have no interest in. Things like stickers and decals, as well as people dropping the Snap On name in their item description just to get search results.

Here's what I use mostly (when I don't want to find Blue Point tools) for browsing Snap-On tools on Ebay:

snap on tools -blue -bluepoint -mac -sticker -decal -stickers -decals

This does a pretty good job of filtering out the **** ....

Does anyone else have a good search string for particular items?

you could do this: (snap on tools) -(blue*,mac,sticker*,decal*) or replace (snap on tools) with (snap on)

I find it easier to lighten up my attitude towards unwanted items sometimes. I mean, I used to be so militant about not finding one unwanted item in my search. But some of my best buys have come from weird listings. Keep in mind that if you exclude certain terms (IE: -mac), you miss listings where someone says something like, "I have this unused Snap On ratchet, but I useMac tools, so I don't need it."
I usually adjust my search strings to suit my mood, and the amount of time I have available to search with.

Hitting the auctions only tab filters a lot of **** out.

What I'd like to know is if there's a way to block a seller. There's certain vendors in H&G>Tools that clog things up with a bunch of junk
