Hi Keith, Thanks. I guess if I ever can get on that site, I could add to it, if they need more info on my system. They have a heating forum there:

I have a used 1982 Jensen indoor wood boiler that came with no info on hookups.

I'd like to put this in my shop only because I don't want it in the house. It has a BTU rating on tag : "100,000 MINIUM" btu/per/hr

The boiler will feed to the house which has oil fired hot water boiler. The house is 120 feet away. I am going to rent a trencher if this will work.

My question is: Some websearches say use the wood boiler to heat an exchanger in the house basement.

The other threads say to skip an exchanger, and hook the wood boiler into the "return line" between the house heating baseboards, before it would go back into the oil boiler.

I won't use any wood heated water to heat the shop. I will get some radiant heat just from the wood boiler being in the shop. Shop area is walled off in winter to about 2 bays. Thanks
