This is cut and pasted from a post I made a few years ago: You can upload photos directly to this site from your computer. After you type whatever you're going to type in the text box, scroll down the screen and click on the 'manage attachments' button. A popup window will appear, and from there you can browse through your computer and pick the picture or pictures you want, then upload them (they can only be so big, if they're too large the upload will fail.) Once that's done, close the popup window and submit the post.

The biggest problem is when the pictures are too large, they won't upload. Try reducing them to 800x600 or 1024x768 pixels first.

Samm,

I got an account with image shack and loaded 2 pics but when I go to my images it only shows the pics but not on the screen shown in the instructions. No place to click any boxes, just the pics. I must have screwed something up as usual.

Thanks anyways, I just wanted to show my old Type 57 Ingersoll Rand compressor and start a new thread.

How do I reduce my pics?

Assuming you have a PC and not a Mac, you should have the Microsoft Paint program on your computer. Start up Paint, then open the picture. At the top of the page, click on Image, then choose Attributes. A window pops up showing the size of the picture in pixels, you can enter in the height and width to whatever you want (be sure to keep the numbers proportionate so the photo doesn't get distorted.) Finally, do a Save As and give the resized photo a different name, so you don't lose your original full size version.

Yep, some of my pics are too big. This is not what I wanted to post but it is 2048 X 1536 and it works. The comp. pic is 3968 X 2976. Still can't get the big ones resized.

I use a small program called Irfanview - it's a tiny download and it's free, and it's very easy to use. Rather than guessing 50% reduction or whatever in Paint, you simply choose the size you want - I use 600X800 - and it just does it. Save it to your file folder and upload, easy peasy.

Rather than store them on Photobucket or whatever, I store them here on GJ, in an album. Then when I want to add a pic to a post, I link it from here, again - easy peasy.

At the top left of the banner you'll see a heading called "User CP", click that....down on the left you 'll see "Pictures and Albums". Create an album, then you'll see a header for "Upload Pics", click that and off you go. When you want to upload a pic, copy the url from the properties box and click the little picture icon in the header of the post box, then paste the url in the window that opens, and here's what happens.....

This is an example of a pic at 600x800 (or is it 800X600? - one or the other)
