Posting pics problem

When trying to post a pic I took on my IPhone it shows in the message sideways everytime. I tried turning my phone sideways and taking the pic but the same thing. I also tried copying the pic to my computer and when I view it on my computer it is right side up but when I post it here it is always sideways. I also see many other posters having the same problem.
