I feel really dumb. I seem to be the only person on this forum that has no idea how to post pictures. Someone please enlighten me!
When the reply to thread box comes up, there are small icons. It looks like a small square with a mountain inside. You click it and a box comes up.
You can paste the location of the pic. It needs to be a web address. Most of us load the pics to a hosting site like photobucket. Then copy and past the link. You know you selected the correct icon because it asks you to enter the URL for the image.

That's not the only way to post pictures. You can actually upload them directly to Garage Journal, but you'll need to do it from the Advanced posting page, not the Quick Reply section at the bottom of each thread.
In the advanced posting area, below the area where you type, there's a button called "Manage Attachments". Click that, and you can upload photos directly to Garage Journal that will be included in your post.
Unfortunately, it shows them as thumbnails that the user must then click on, which I find extremely irritating as a user. It is what it is, though.

Just to add a note to this. To get the link of a picture that's hosted somewhere on the net, just right click on a photo a click "copy image url", and paste as he describes above.

Is anyone else having problems uploading photos to GJ? (from advanced post page) I keep getting an error every time I try to upload pics. Haven't been able to upload any pics for awhile now.

Join the crowd I havent been able to in quite a while had to start doing it from the photobucket hosting site. It just quit working on me so had to learn how to do it thru photo bucket.

Whew! Good to know it wasn't just me having troubles.
