Posting Professional Plans

Are there any rules (or even just etiquette) to be aware of concerning the posting of copies of professionally drawn/stamped/sign plans? :dunno:

It looks like most people don't actually post up all of their building/site plans, yet I see where some people have shared them with an individual upon request. Are they just hesitant to give away their thousands of dollars worth of paperwork to the world? :fawk:

I would probably obscure my name and address from the documents for privacy :see:. Should I remove the architects and engineer's names and stamps from them, as well? Or would that be like removing attribution and frowned upon?

TIA :pimpflash

Thank you for the reply.

To be clear, I'm talking about plans that have my name on them, along with the name of the company that I paid to draft them. Are the plans not mine now, to share if I wish?

Also, what about posting invoices or quotes?

You can post whatever you want if it is yours IMO. Blackout the personal info and anything else neccesary.

If they are your plans, quotes or estimates, then IMHO ( I can't answer for the true legalities from state to state) they are your plans to share if you like.

You might want to consider covering the contractor, architect, or supply company's vital information. Some of them might appreciate the free advertisement while others may not. I'd consider it a common courtesy.
