Tried to post a reply in deals thread and said I need 20 posts to do so. I have been a lurker for years now and have posted in the past. Did the rules change. Kinda of like you need experience to get a job but to get the job you need experience. How can I get more posts if I can not post to a thread?

it's been that way for a while. it is primarily to stop the spammers from posting/pming members etc.
It really isn't hard to hit the post count by chiming in to various threads

The only one I ever really look at is the Hot Deals so I guess I can keep replying to my own post here til I hit 20.

No, don't do that. That's post padding or post whoring. It's basically done to circumvent the forum rules that are in place.

Make your posts productive and not "one or two" word posts. Join in some conversation and you'll have the post count you need in no time.
