Potential relay for air compressor

Anyone replace a start switch with a potential relay? My start switch is done and costs much more than a potential relay.

I have done it several times over the years. Mostly on dairy farm equipment that had to work now. I have also used 2 switches on smaller motors. Turn them on simultaneously then turn off the start capacitor.
