I dropped by my local Tractor Supply and as I was browsing through the tool section, I noticed they have a P/C Chop Saw for 99.00.

Anyone know how it compares to the Dewalt one for twice the price?

Porter used to be a Delta sister company on equal quality terms but was purchased by DeWalt and is not definitely a homeowner brand.Their cordless tools seem to be priced with Rigid and Ryobi not Makita and DeWalt....does that help?
Never used anything by the DeWalt incarnation - all my Pc stuff is Delta or Rockwell era.

im sure it would be fine.. if you were building cabinets for a living, i would look elsewhere - but for general use im sure its fine.. you are the best judge for what will fit your needs, or what is up to par with your own standards...

on that note - its a shame they made the PC cordless tools look like something out of a star wars movie.. they would sell much better if they just used some normal looking enclosures for them. i belive the cosmetics to be the biggest crutch in the PC brand these days.. i would not be a bit suprised if they are identical inside to some dewalt counterparts.

The newer PC stuff I've used (mostly the 20V cordless stuff) is pretty good for the money. It doesn't have the bells and whistles that the Dewalt stuff does, but it isn't **** by any means
