Pour-n-restore?

Anyone use this stuff to clean oil stains on your concrete? Just saw an ad for it on TV...

Supposedly, it's a liquid you pour on the spot and it dries and turns to dust that you just sweep away. No scrubbing.

I've seen it carried in the local Ace and True Value stores, but have not tried it. I seem to recall that there is a similar product that Lowes carries. Might be cheaper to pick up local to try out.

Ive used it on a couple of stains. It worked great on a pretty fresh one. Didnt do much on one that was about 2 weks old. Both oil.

Years ago I once dumped powdered laundry detergent (no OilDri on hand at the time) on a small fresh oil spill on newish concrete at another house. After letting it soak up the oil, broom clean, and wash with water I must say gosh darn if that stuff didn't almost completly get rid of the spot! I was impressed!
That is the one and only experience I've had.
Just wondering out loud----What is this miracle cure really made of?
I'd try some detergent in a small area and see what happens.

Judging from this quote from the website, it has some sort of emulsifiers in it: "[FONT=Arial, Helvetica]If Pour-N-Restore is used to remove stains on asphalt it will dissolve the surface layer and expose the aggregate."

[/FONT]But I have a feeling that you are on the right track. Might try mixing up a paste of detergent and see what the results are like.
