Poured Walls - Drylok

Not really a flooring question, but paint/concrete involved which is related.

Any issues to using UGL Drylok on the inside of a poured wall (10" thick) that already has waterproofing on the outside (ie, trapping moisture in the wall, etc?)

Probably need to wait for it to cure like a garage floor. Do the ceran wrap test. BTW - how long since the pour ??

I had a poured in place foundation for a fully buried basement. Conventional asphalt/tar based exterior water proofing. The wall cracked and it wept water in hard rains.

I chisled the crack into a V shape, put in the UGL drylock, done. Left it exposed that way for a few years, no leaks or issues, then finished off the basement.

Why do you want to coat the wall? Leak?

Just curious - what type of waterproofing do you have on the outside face?

Outside is typical asphalt/tar type.

No leaks, for 2 reasons:

1. My shop has 2 poured bare "basement" walls that need to be painted with something anyway.

2. In my house, no leaks, but I'm trying to see if it will help with humidity in the basement.

Both pours are approx 1 yr old.

If you have high humidity, then I would run a dehumidifier in the basement. Get one that cycles and run it to a floor drain. Check to see if you have a cold air return on your furnace (assuming it is located in the basement) and keep it open as well as open the registers in the basement. You will be quite surprised how the turnover of air in a basement can reduce the humidity. Many people close the basement registers "since its only storage space".
