I picked this up a while back but haven’t done anything with it, I started pulling it apart to clean it up and install the new tires I bought.

I have a couple of questions though. First off, the previous owner had been using it for years with no tires (that’s why the odd blade size written on it) and the wheels are slightly crowned. What is the best way to flatten them before installing the new tires?

The other question is just a recommendation for the finish. The original wrinkle coat is coming off with just a fingernail, I am currently thinking just a dark gray hammertone on the body and a silver hammertone for the wheels, would this be ok? Or should I just hunt down some wrinkle finish?
Let me know what y’all think

As noted by RTM above, The crown helps center the blade, similar to crowned pulleys on a flat belt-driven machine. The crowned profile will transmit through the tires. If the wheel rims are badly scored from the blade running without tires, best thing is put them on a lathe and take a light skim cut to clean them up. You could also mount them on any shop-made devise that spins and clean them up with a hand file.

Thanks guys, I had already downloaded the manual before I started pulling it apart, lots of good stuff over at vintage machinery, I was just concerned about the wheels, that makes sense but I guess I never noticed when I replaced tires on the Milwaukees at work, but they were a lot smaller. This is actually my first bandsaw so I’m not that familiar with what one should look like.
And to the Powr-Kraft I used the spelling off of one of my wrenches, I forget there are like 5 versions of the spelling
