Electrician came out early due to cancellation, said it's the right circuit to run and by following the modification panel on the back there will be no issues, we hooked it up and turned the oven on, after he did some looking and testing, there were no concerns that anything should go wrong with the circuit, debacle over,

Reading comprehension failures happen, but I dont plan on apologizing after pretty much being called inept by referring to something in another thread that someone has been doing for years and still manages to ruin every time, not checking out to find the difficulty and direction to go on something with the possibility of death, and the 100$ fee for electrician to come out and check everything out still saves me ~$1000 in powdercoating over the next 6 months through mostly my projects and friends,

So you kept the 6-50 outlet for the stove? And the double black and white cable in the wall feeding it?

IF so then something isnt right here but seems you dont care to fill us in on the details...

Jumping in here to say that this thread has become overly complicated.

I am a firm believer in the KISS rule.

Getting the stove to operate was never the issue. Not using the ground wire as a current carrying conductor was (is).

Is he the same electrician who provided the surface mount 6-50 recept as a cover plate on the old work 1 gang box?

I simply quoted your words verbatim.
I'm sure the employee you mentioned in your attack would have similar thoughts about you.
The difference is that he didn't even have a chance to defend himself.
Instead of taking it up with the HR dept, you chose to air your gripe here.:wtf:

You ought to show him that other thread :see:

The feed is 3 wires, not doubled like I thought, single black, white, and ground

Next time I'm not even bothering here because I'm not an electrician and this is out of my realm and this thread is fckd

Ok is the ground wire bare? It sounds like its NM, and if it is, then thats a code violation and a safety issue because youre running neutral current on a barr conductor.

Just wait til you get into powdercoating for your friends. If you're frustrated now by a little 2-page message board thread powered by intelligent people who are actually TRYING TO HELP YOU, perhaps you need a safe space by yourself somewhere.

If the ground wire is bare then it is NOT SAFE.

But that doesnt answer the question.

What type of recept and how many conductors in the cable?
Oven 4 prong recepticle and expensive 4 wire with two hots, a neutral, and a coated ground
