Powder coating chamber in garage? Concrete concern?

Realize this may be a long shot but i know there is a vast amount of knowledge running around on this board. Planning to build a larger sized powder coating cure oven that would potentially be used in my garage (or on driveway). Size is likely to be 5x5x10' long. To make it portable or modular so it can be broken apart when not used i would prefer to not make a "floor" for it. The heat sources (electric, not gas) would be around the outside perimeter walls near the floor and would use fans to circulate the heat. Pretty simple build but i am curious if i should be concerned about the heat that would contact the concrete floor if i dont build a steel floor. Any thoughts? Likely not above 400F at sensor which will be about 3 feet off of concrete.

While I wouldn’t be worried about a cured bare concrete floor....I think No floor of any kind will be an issue heating up and maintaining temps. Interested to see if you come up with a break down setup like this.

I agree with Kaizen on the heat loss, and will add you're more likely to get a lot of contamination with the fans picking up dirt, pollen, etc., off the bare concrete. If you're building your own oven anyway, why would you not want a floor? It won't add that much weight and will help keep the flex down while you're moving it around.

I've built a 3x3x7'tall oven and I used a single piece of sheet metal as my floor with the intent of building a rack that I can roll in. When I was building mine I read that the sheet metal floor would help keep heat in and reduce dust. I don't know if there is less dust with concrete or sheetmetal, but sheet metal works for me.

concrete exposed to heat, spalls, I don’t know at what temperature this happens but it does happen. I’d be inclined for some time of floor to keep what’s inside from picking up debris
How about some sheet metal with some masonry brick to create an airspace from the ground?

IMHO you will have a lot of heat loss and uneven heat. I would add a layer of heat resistant foam, or blocks, covered by a thin layer of sheet metal. Also, I agree with the contaminant issues with using fans. Make sure they have filters.
