I have a ~4 year old Eastwood Pro powder coating gun that's on the fritz. It looks like this:

TechSession5-B.jpg

It's my first an only gun. It works fine for single coat stuff, but I could never really do multi coat jobs with it.

Since it's on it's way out, I figured it's a good time to upgrade it. So I'm looking at the following guns:

http://www.caswellplating.com/red-line-ez50-powder-coating-system.html

http://www.powderbuythepound.com/-_NEW_PSS_SPECTRACOAT_ES01-C_POWDER_COATING_GUN_SYSTEM.html

http://www.caswellplating.com/red-line-ez100-powder-coating-system.html

Money IS an issue, so whatever is the best bang for the buck is probably best for me.

Anyone have any experience with any of the above? If not, any suggestions in that price range?

FWIW, we probably only coat two parts per week or so on average.

I have the EZ50 and use it a lot. Ive had it for 4 or 5 years now. I personally like it. Second coats can be tricky with it but ive gotten lazy and just shoot the parts warm anywhere under 200 degrees. Ive read ok things about the guns from powderbuythepound. Also check out powder365.com they have a line of entry level guns.

Any issues with it?

Were you able to get extra cups with lids to store the powder in?

Had one where the power supply that plugs into the wall died. The place I bought it from sent a replacement havent had a problem since.

I did but i just store the powder in the bags and boxes they come in.

How does it come out?

Comes out fine its called hot flocking. I do it more as a time saver when doing multiple coats on something like wheels you dont have to wait forthem to cool all the way down. Anything over 200 and the powder starts to flow and can cause problems. Under 200 the powder just melts alittle to help it stick. Stil have to becarefull and it taks some practice.

Just "ok"?

Check out the forums on their site its been awhile since ive looked at any guns.

See above.

If you havent check out the fourms on powderbythepound and powder365 lots of good info tips and tricks.
