Want to install new railings on our deck. WE like the steel powdercoated railings but my wife is not happy with the black. Has anyone had any expierience in having them repowdercoated. I'm sure they would have all the previous coating removed first.

Are you looking at panels and posts? If so be very careful. They are usually made of light material and can deform easily if they need to have the powder coat burned off and then be sand blasted to apply new powder coat. You will spend a little more with a custom fabricator but get exactly what you want instead of trying to make the premade stuff work.

I had a friend that took his railings that were on his front porch to be done at a powerdercoater.....came out great! I plan to do the same. As mentioned....get a heavier iron type material that can stand being prepped and coated versus a thinner aluminum. I'm sure they offer different colors that would make your wife happy. I would find some powdercoaters in your area and visit them to get some info. Likely they can give you some ideas.:beer:
