I have a old pressure washer with 1.25 hp Baldor motor. Sold by Northern Hydrulics. Star brand 1500 psi 2.1 gal per min. weighs about 35 lbs. Its one of those things I seldom use and got neglected., and pushed back in corner. ( good stout frame with tube tires) Water was left in pump and busted it. I can't use a gas one because of a dislocated shoulder and broken fingers on other hand. I was searching for a replacement pumb for it (made by General) The pump costs $500. No way am I going to replace it. I have a couple of cheap Roybi washers that just bearley work. ( cheap nylon hoses, gun, flimsey plastic case and cheap parts. I have been looking for a replacement electric washer, I see on on Temui that looks like most of them, (vaccum cleaner style) It lilsts for under $150 and lists 4000 psi with 3.2 gal. (looks about like Ryobi) How can ther make a preassure washer that meet those specs and weight only about 20 lbs. When purchaseing one I would like to get at 3000 psi. Add says it has 3 adjustments for pressure, low, medium and high. Advice, thanks

The specs are ********. You would need a 10hp+ motor to get that flow and pressure

GPM matters way more than pressure, so I would focus on that.

My sunjoe 120v unit has been good. Northern tool has some decent spec units as well

I was just looking at another ad and they listed one for 5000psi. You wonder how they can make those statements. Common sense tells you are not going to get 3 gal and that kind of pressure. It would be intersting to see how long one would last. When I was 16 IL could pee a bigger stream than some of them put out.. Hard to get a good american made product any more without breaking the bank. The last two coffee makers I had only lasted 3 months. I guess I should have paid more attention to the washer I had. I think I have had it for at least 25 years and I cant even remember how I acquired it but I know I didn't buy it new. I have found a couple pumps from timt to time on sale but they are 3/4 shaft and mine is 5/8. In the mean time if there are any mfg's importeing those pumps for that price with 5000 lbs of pressure and 3 gal per min. Send me one free for a consumer review. To use for a year. Like the saying goes: If you want good clean oates you have to pay a fair price but if you want oates that have been through the horse, they are cheaper.

It's like l picking up a $15 ****** an expecting a GF experience. :rolleyes2

Even if the specs are overblown, looks like a nice unit - for the whopping $88 bucks they want for it.

I bought a SunJoe 3000psi electric pressure washer from Menard's with the idea if I didn't like it I would return it.
Going on 4 years now. Sold my gas one.

Almost all of the non-detailing specific electric pressure washers are only putting out 1.2gpm or so at rated pressure, which is often different than the headline max pressure. I know for a fact the PowRyte and other knockoff brands that advertise 3800+psi are only doing 1600 running. And they don't even bother to put a GFCI on the cord.

Outside of the Active pumps etc you're not going to get more than 50-100 hours of the electric units before either a motor or pump failure. I would buy the cheapest unit from a brand I want to deal with and then change the tips to get to whatever pressure/flow I wanted to be at.

If it makes you feel warm in fuzzy to buy some Chinese components that have had 4 bolts screwed together in the US, then go ahead and buy the made in the US ones.
