For you guys that have your lifts in the center of your garage, where do you have your power outlet? On your ceilings?
I have mine against my wall so it's not a problem. My friend is getting his garage setup for a lift in a 4 stall garage so I was trying to help him out.
Thanks!

Yes, typically it would come from the ceiling. Most lifts have the motors higher than lower. You could do in-floor wiring, but that seems like more of a hassle to me. Depends on your setup I suppose. The shop I worked in as well as my friends professional shops all have done overhead mounted wiring in EMT (due to ease of retrofitting for new lifts - your call there)

I ran two 3/4" PVC conduits under ground from the wall to where the two post lift would be located. The one wast ever for the lift the other was a "stub up" andi ran a 1/2" pex for the air feed. I have nothing coming down from the ceiling.

I brought the 10-2 down through the ceiling inside 3/4" armored cable.

Mine is EMT to a 4x4 box mounted on a roof purlin (steel building) It has a L14-30 Twist Lock™ receptacle. The lift has a SOOW cord on it with a matching plug on the end plugged in, with some jack chain ty-wrapped™ to the cord as a strain relief. The air for the lock release cylinders also comes from overhead with a hose and coupling. I have a portable gantry crane that will just pass over the top of the lift, so I wanted it possible to unplug the lift to get the cords out of the way. I have a manlift to get up to the "ceiling" electrical with, so access is not a problem.
