Power Outlet in Cable Service Box

I have a duplex power outlet inside my cable service box. This is pretty common in homes out here. My question is, if I am not putting my router or other device in there that requires electricity, is there any con in removing this power outlet? Do the cable technicians need power for anything?

Reason to move it is to stick it on a stud, facing into my garage - I have no outlets on that wall.

it may be for a power amp if necessary. Who owns the cable service box?

Can you just add a second outlet and wire it off of that one?

I believe I own it. It's really just an access panel (probably a better term for it) in the side of my house with the main cable line coming in, and the origination of my home runs for cable to various locations in my home. The only other thing in there is the last outlet in my garage circuit.

Yea, I could tee off, if it makes sense to retain power inside that access panel. But I just don't know why they/I would need it, and if it ever poses a problem, I could run an extension cord for them. (Definitely overthinking this).

Some cable company equipment such as a GPON, requires a power supply that feeds power through a coax cable.

If the outlet is not in the way or harming anything, i would just leave it and then wire another outlet parallel to this outlet.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll go ahead and add another outlet rather than move this one. Pretty much the same amount of work so no reason not to.
