Ok. Im buying one of these very soon. The price is very close. Like the hook is only $20 more. I need some input from anyone who owns either. Looks like the hook does everything the 4 can do plus the higher current capabilities. Now I do own a great multimeter with load pro leads as well as a PP3 and various logic probes the Amp Hound(which is great and speeds up draw tests) . One other difference is see is the fuel injector testing on the 4. Which i probably wont use much if ever. With only a less than $20 difference im leaning towards the.Hook. Now after reading more i am leaning toward the 4 because of the.signal testing capabilities. The high current supply voltage doesnt really fit to what im doing.

hook because it shows reference voltage at the clamps and what you are measuring

from my understanding the 4 does not show the voltage at the clamps

If you are going to keep your pp3 then get the hook. The hook is capable of higher amps. Hook is a great tool but its bulky. Use the pp3 for quick tests and the hook for more complex situations.

I bought my brother the 4 and he loves it (he's and automotive tech) He originally wanted the Hook but after seeing the 4's signal testing , fuel injection tests and the size of the hook he wanted the 4. I'm a electrical guy myself, just have never used my PP3. It's been in my box for years but I just stick w/ jumpers, a DMM, jumpers and a hi-beam lol
