Power Probe PPSK Soldering kit

Anybody have experience with it, or heard good things about it?

On ToolTopia, and Power Probe's product page.

Some Amazon reviews, all giving it 5 stars.

I know people are big fans of their circuit testers, so I figured their soldering kit might be good too. But I'm unsure, so I come to you guys for your thoughts on it. Good for automotive use?

I have one, it leaks the gas out in less than a day. Started about six months after I got it and my matco dealer at the time (no longer in biz) never would do anyything to help me. It does work well, just wastes any fuel that is left in it.

I have one, same issue. I don't think it's that big of a deal I just fill it for about 1-2 seconds before each use. The attachments are good especially that one for heat shrink.

I've had one for about 6 months now, use it a lot and have only filled it 3 times. I give it a thumbs up…

I own two of them and use them everyday. So far I don't have the leaking issue like some have said. I have gone through alot of the soldering tips but they are pretty cheap to buy.

Ok, thanks guys. This might be a dumb question but, I've never owned a butane powered soldering tool so... When it runs out, can i go buy a small butane canister from any store to refill it? Or is there some special Power Probe stuff i need to use?

I have used one for a couple of years with no problems, good product. No leaks. Ordinary Butane is all you need.

Yeah you can get a small can of fuel to refill when needed, no special power probe stuff needed and they are pretty cheap.
